Bosnian Embassy in Doha organized a reception in honor of the national handball team of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Numerous BiH citizens who live in Qatar were able to socialize with the BiH players. BiH Ambassador in Qatar Tarik Sadovic in his welcome speech congratulated the BiH handball team on a great sporting success, stressing that the placement in the finals of the World Cup, means that they are one of the best handball team of the world, which is a success worthy of respect and admiration.
“Some say that you have surpassed yourself. I believe however that you simply managed to bring out the best in yourself and your teammates” – Sadovic said. He added that the placement of BiH in the World Cup is a wonderful sports story and stated that he and all other Bosnians currently living in Doha will cheer for them with all their heart so that the tale of their success can be continued. He said that this team shines with the true spirit of sportsmanship and unity, and congratulated them for that. Director of the national handball team of Bosnia and Herzegovina Mirza Muzurović thanked the ambassador for the reception and warm welcome and expressed his satisfaction that the reception was attended by a large number of our citizens. He added that the team will do their utmost to achieve the best result, and that the support from cheering fans can help a great deal. World Handball Championship in Doha is starting on 15 January 2015, and the national team of Bosnia and Herzegovina will play their first game on January 16, with Iran.
