Tarik Sadovic, BiH Ambassador to the State of Qatar, attended the opening ceremony of the 15th consecutive “Doha Forum”, which will be held from 11-13 May 2015 at the Sheraton Hotel in Doha. This reputable forum annually brings together leaders and many famous names to discuss issues in the fields of politics and international relations, collective security and stability, development of democracy, human rights and freedoms, the global economy and energy, sustainable development, the media … It was announced that there will be over 500 participants from 80 countries and organizations.
Forum is also planned to hold 16 workshops. Doha Forum was opened by the Deputy Emir of Qatar, Sheik Abdullah bin Hamad Al Thani, and the introductory speech was given by the Prime Minister and Interior Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani. He criticized the United Nations Security Council of having double standards and urged them to take responsibility for the maintenance of international peace and security, highlighting the unacceptable behavior of Israel in the occupied Palestinian territories; the right of Palestinians to establish an independent state and the failure of the United Nations to resolve the crisis in Syria. The Prime Minister also pointed out that the phenomenon of terrorism is a real threat to international peace and security. Terrorism harms the economy of affected countries and threatens sustainable development. “More than ever, an international community is necessary to strengthen cooperation and eliminate the phenomenon of organized violence at its roots: extreme poverty, evident inequality and disrespect for human rights. After the Qatari Prime Minister, forum was addressed by Iraqi Vice President Iyad Allawi, the Somali Prime Minister Omar Abdirashid Ali Sharmarke and former President of Tunisia Moncef Marzouki.
