Ambassador of Bosnia and Herzegovina H.E. Tarik Sadović attended the opening ceremony of Food and Consumer Industries Exhibition on Thursday, October 26th 2017 at Doha Exhibition and Convention Center (DECC). The Vice-Chairman of Qatar Chamber, Mohamed bin Ahmed bin Tawar Al Kuwari, opened the four-day expo.
More than 70 food companies from seven countries showcased their products.
Al Kuwari said food industry is expected to see huge progress in the coming phase thanks to the flow of several major investments in the sector to meet the demand of the local market. He highlighted the keenness of Qatari businessmen to invest in the sector. He also expected the country to witness a boom in this field over the next few years through the establishment of many food factories. He noted that Qatar Chamber pays special attention to the issue of food security and urges business owners to increase their investments in food industries. The chamber has organized specialized exhibitions in this field to highlight the role of local factories and their development towards meeting the needs of the food market in the country. Qatar has been under siege since 5th June and is on the lookout for new opportunities for food investments so as to reach self-sufficiency in all products.
