Ambassador of Bosnia and Herzegovina to the State of Qatar, H.E. Tarik Sadović attended the opening ceremony of the eighth World Innovation Summit for Education (WISE) under the theme “Co-Exist, Co-Create: Learning to Live and Work Together” on Wednesday, November 15th 2017 at Qatar National Convention Center (QNCC).
HH Sheikha Moza bint Nasser, Chairperson of Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development, opened the Plenary session of the eighth World Innovation Summit for Education (WISE) in the presence of Emine Erdogan, wife of president of Turkey, at Qatar National Convention Center, on November 15th 2017. She said at the opening ceremony:
“A blockade is imposed on Qatar since the 5th of June. Some wanted to make matters difficult for us, yet it was only difficult for them. They wanted us to change, yet we remain unchanged,”
The WISE Summit brings together teachers, policy makers and influential experts from various sectors and fields, to help utilize their varied experiences to address important education challenges in times of disruption and economic uncertainty.
More than 2,000 attendees from nearly 100 countries is taking part in the WISE summit, which, since it convened for the first time in 2009, has become a global reference in new approaches to education and tackling challenges and issues in this field through innovative solutions.
This year’s WISE Prize for Education worth $500,000 was presented by Sheikha Moza to Patrick Awuah of Ghana, recognizing his great effort in the education field in his country.
