Bosnia and Herzegovina ambassador Tarik Sadovic has praised the great development in Qatar in the different fields, especially during the reign of His Highness the Father Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani, noting that His Highness the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani continued the legacy of achievements with new energy and determination. Ambassador Sadovic said that National Day is a remembrance of the historic mission of the founding father Sheikh Jassim bin Mohammed bin Thani, his vision and struggle for independence. “We admire and rejoice in the achievements of the fraternal people and with gratitude we recall the generous help that Qatar always provided us.
When the people of Qatar celebrate their National Day, their friends from Bosnia and Herzegovina celebrate as well,” the ambassador said. He underlined that the official visit of His Highness the Emir to Bosnia and Herzegovina in January 2016 was a milestone in the relations of the two countries, and in moving them onto the phase of developing an economic partnership and increasing trade and investments. He added that Qataris can enter the country without a visa, noting that thousands of tourists, including Qataris, visited his country last year, and the number is expected to increase this year. Sadovic expressed hope that the excellent political relations between the two countries would be interpreted into similar economic relations. He said that business people from both countries are now more likely to make contact. He added that trade has increased and the products labelled “Made in B&H” are increasingly more common on the shelves of the shopping malls in Qatar.
The Bosnian ambassador looked forward to the completion of the procedure for twinning of the capitals of Doha and Sarajevo, recalling that the new Gazi Husrev-beg library was given as a gift by Qatar to Sarajevo where very valuable books are being kept in that library, expressing thanks and gratitude to the humanitarian organisations in Qatar for their continued assistance for his country. The ambassador praised Qatar for successfully managing the Gulf crisis, saying that Qatar has quickly manoeuvred into a proactive and dominant position. “Qatar’s diplomacy has done a great job. I believe that they have outplayed their opponents. Qatar has significantly reduced the consequences of the blockade.” He added, “Qatar did not respond in the same way to the numerous violations of human rights and fundamental freedoms by countries that imposed a blockade. Qatar did not respond with an angry and inflammatory rhetoric. That is why Qatar is already a moral winner. All this would not be possible without the wise leadership of His Highness the Emir,” HE ambassador Sadovic affirmed. (QNA)
