The application for the certificate to transfer the deceased (body or urn) BiH citizen must be filed by the relatives of the deceased or the funeral home representative who has been authorized by the family of the deceased. The said authorization must be certified by the authorities of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Qatar. The application should be submitted with the following documents:

The travel document of the deceased. If the deceased was not in possession of the travel document,a proof of Bosnian citizenship is required (citizenship certificate or birth certificate indicating the citizenship of BiH should suffice),

A copy of the death certificate on an international form, issued by the relevant institution of the State of Qatar,
-
The document for the deceased issued by the relevant institution of the State of Qatar,
-
Confirmation from the coroner on the cause of death,
-
Confirmation of secured grave site in BiH
-
Information about the vehicle, the driver, and the place of crossing the border in Bosnia and Herzegovina
Death due to infectious diseases
If the cause of death of the deceased was a contagious disease, it is necessary to attach the relevant document issued by the physician with the diagnosis of the cause of death written in Latin. Since in this case it is necessary to seek approval of the relevant institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina for the certificate, we emphasize that the certificate will not issued until the embasy obtains proper approval from BiH.
We recommend that the planning for the transport of the deceased be arranged in consultations with the Embassy and we urge you to submit the applications in a timely manner.
Exhumation
The consent of the relevant institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina must be sought for the transfer of the remains of the person who was buried (exhumation). We warn you that the certificate can not be issued until the Embassy receives approval from the relevant institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
We recommend that the planning for transport of the exhumed person be arranged in consultations with the Embassy and we urge you to submit the applications in a timely manner.
Foreign nationals
It is possible to bury the deceased in BiH even if they are not a citizen of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The certificate in this case is also issued after obtaining the relevant consent of BiH institutions. Please note that all of the above mentioned documents still need to be delivered.
Because of the time required for obtaining the approval it is recommended that the planning of transport of the deceased be done in consultations with the Embassy, and that the applications are sumbitted in a timely manner.
The fee for the certificate is 26 €.
Applications forms for requesting the certificate for transfer of human remains from abroad to Bosnia and Herzegovina:

The request for the transfer of the remains from abroad to Brcko District

The request for the transfer of the deceased from abroad to the Republic of Srpska.
Application No. 1 is mandatory for everyone transporting a deceased person in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Additional applications, number 2 or 3 or 4, depend on the place of burial (Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Republic of Srpska or Brcko District) and should be filed only if the:
- Deceased is not a citizen of Bosnia and Herzegovina
- In case of exhumation or
- Death from infectious disease.
